Long before, I had a privilege to hear Mr. Yashwant Sinha in Simaria, Jharkhand. He was then Indian Minister for External Affairs. Co- incidentally, within a period of 15 days, I got selected for a competition to be held in Patna and I had a chance to hear Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav as well. These two experiences actually designed my perception for Politicians and Leaders.
Earlier,I used to think that all leaders come through a proper procedure of selection and so their level of intelligence, understanding and their approach should be somewhere similar to their contemporaries.
Well theoretically, they do come through a proper procedure of selection but this procedure was far different from the one which I thought of and unfortunately this procedure of selection in our country has not much to do with intelligence or understanding or approach in good ways so gradually, I realized that Leaders and Politicians are different.
Leaders represent a mass but politician is always an individual who is the representative of his own intelligence, moral and plans.
Coming back, though I was too young to understand what Mr. Sinha was saying that day, but I just liked the way he was saying.
His choice of words, command over the language, fluency, pronunciation.
I liked every second of those 60 minutes.
I still remember what I was thinking that day when I went to bed.
I wanted to be a leader!
So that I could speak the same way someday.
Well! I did not know then that there are other ways too where we could find the opportunity to speak :)
Then comes my second meeting with one of the most talked about person in the field of Indian politics. To be true, I find Mr. Prasad very witty. He has a unique sense of humor . He is very entertaining when he is at his best.
Bebaak and Desi andaaz !
I like the way he has been and he is (publically)
but I didn't take anything back home that day.
I was more fascinated towards my snacks and and that is all what I can remember.
No thoughts. No plans. I was neither influenced nor disappointed.
I had forgotten those 60 minutes once I was out of there.
We all are well acquainted with scrap books.
The very first time, when I was asked to write in my friend's SB ,who my ideal was, I wrote Mr. Yashwant Sinha ,and unlike my other answers,
for this question I knew the reason and that makes a leader successful when mass knows why they like their leader.
I liked him as a leader ,as a person and obviously as an orator.
Today, politicians talk about the concept of Ram Rajya but they miss the most important thing behind the argument that it was Ram who made the political system an ideal concept to rule by following the rules set for the mass.
Leaders first discover the path, they choose to walk on it and at last they guide the mass on that path and the mass, the followers must know why they are being led by that person, why they are following him.
Success of a political system lies in this very small reason.
A politician can be a good entertainer, but he must be a good leader. The difference between privilege and chance for a follower matters the most.
The purpose of the political system is to make policies for the betterment of mass and this betterment is not limited to augmentation in living standard.
Betterment includes the educational, economical, social and also the moral betterment.
A true politician should not only entertain or rule , He should always lead.
Politics is a way to influence the mass in a positive way,
which is called a good leadership and for a leader,
Politics is a journey from leadership to Policy making.
The objective of leadership is to influence the mass for their betterment.
Politics must not be the objective for a leader. It is a tool for Policy making.
